Why should you use a handrail?
A handrail is a must in every building, whether in private homes or public facilities. It helps to prevent falls on stairs and serious injuries. But it is not only important for senior citizens and children to install them on all handrails. It can quickly happen that you slip or trip when going down or up the stairs. If you always hold on to the handrail with one hand, the risk is minimised enormously.
If the handrail is also equipped with LED lights, this provides more safety. At the same time, the LED panel is a visual eye-catcher that becomes the central design element in the staircase.

How is the Alu-Wood profile used in the wooden handrail?
The handrail itself is available from any timber merchant. A carpenter in your area is also a good partner for this. Here you can get a wooden handrail that exactly matches your wishes in terms of colour, material and dimensions. You can choose from wood types such as beech, oak, spruce or mahogany. The dealers or carpenters then install our Alu-Wood profile. For this, a suitable groove is created with a milling machine. You will receive the exact technical data of the groove from LUX GLENDER GmbH by e-mail.
The new aluminium Wood profile is inserted into the milled groove and screwed to the prefabricated holes with the countersunk screws. Alternatively, the aluminium wood profile can be glued into the wood. The Alu-Wood profile from LUX GLENDER is available in 3-metre lengths and can also be cut to mitre individually.
Once the profile has been worked into the wood, assembly follows the usual pattern. With BASIC, only the LED strip is glued into the Alu-Wood profile and closed with a symmetrical, opal cover. If you require asymmetrical radiation or security against vandalism, the SAFE system can be used symmetrically or asymmetrically.
